After "Twelve Monkeys", "Seven Years in Tibet", or "Ocean 12", Brad Pitt is joining the cast of "Twelve Years a Slave", a film written and directed by Steve McQueen.

Pitt, who produces the film, will play alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor.

"Twelve Years a Slave" is the adaptation of the autobiographical book from Solomon Northup, which tells the story of the son of an ex slave, at the end of the XIX century, who is going to be kidnapped and be himself the slave of several others during 12 years.

Steve McQueen has also previously written and directed "Shame" an "Hunger".
