Actor Michael Clarke Duncan has died at age 54, two months after suffering a heart attack from which he never fully recovered.

The 6'5" Chicago native left college and moved to Hollywood as a young man, with dreams of becoming an actor. After a string of small roles in television and movies, he landed a role in Michael Bay's "Armageddon", playing the role of "Bear". From that, Bruce Willis suggested him to director Frank Darabont for the role of convict John Coffey in the film adaptation of Stephen King's "The Green Mile"(which also starred Tom Hanks). Duncan shot to fame with this film, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. From this moment, a place in cinama was finally secured for the young man with dreams of stardom.

Mr. Duncan will be missed.
