The Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra 60-issue story, which debuted in 2002, is about a young man, Yorick Brown, and his pet capuchin monkey, who somehow survive a plague that wipes out every male mammal possesses a Y chromosome, including embryos and even sperm.
Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia have apparently written a screenplay that is up to New Line's standards, and although D.J. Caruso had previously been mentioned as having been interested in directing the film, no one has been attached.
There are rumors that Shia LaBeouf is being considered to play Yorick Brown.
