Directed by Renny Harlin, "Deep Blue Sea" (also known as "Blu profondo") is an Action/Horror/Thriller film, released in the USA on July 26 of 1999 . Thomas Jane (Carter Blake) and Saffron Burrows (Dr. Susan McCallister) are starring, alongside LL Cool J (Sherman 'Preacher' Dudley), Michael Rapaport (Tom "Scoggs" Scoggins), Stellan Skarsgård (Jim Whitlock) and Samuel L. Jackson (Russell Franklin).

Renny Harlin has also directed LL Cool J in Mindhunters, released in 2004 (Gabe Jensen). As an actor, LL Cool J has been seen in movies such as Edison, released in 2005 playing Officer Rafe Deed, Deliver Us from Eva ⁽²⁰⁰³⁾ playing Raymond 'Ray' Adams, Charlie's Angels ⁽²⁰⁰⁰⁾ in which he portrays Mr. Jones, Kingdom Come ⁽²⁰⁰¹⁾ (Ray Bud Slocumb), Last Holiday ⁽²⁰⁰⁶⁾ as Sean Matthews, and B*A*P*S ⁽¹⁹⁹⁷⁾.
