The Dark Knight, only the second movie to surpass the $500 million

Warner Bros. Pictures revealed that The Dark Knight passed the $500 million mark at the domestic box office on Sunday, making Christopher Nolan's film only the second movie in history to surpass that threshold.

James Cameron's Titanic remains first with $600.8 million in 1997.
