Charley Grapewin and Victor Fleming (director) have also worked together on The Good Earth, released in 1937 portraying Old Father, Captains Courageous (1937) playing Uncle Salters. As an actor, Charley Grapewin has been seen in movies such as Female, released in 1933, Pilgrimage (1933) portraying Dad Saunders, Anne of Green Gables (1934) (character: Dr. Tatum), The Grapes of Wrath (1940) in which he plays Grandpa Joad, Hell's House (1932), and Of Human Hearts (1938) in which he plays Jim Meeker.

Victor Fleming (director) and Clara Blandick have been associated in The Wet Parade, released in 1932 (character: Mrs. Tarleton).
