Released in the USA on September 21 of 1934, "Belle of the Nineties" is a Comedy/Western film directed by Leo McCarey . Mae West (Ruby Carter) is starring, alongside Roger Pryor (Tiger Kid), Katherine DeMille (Molly Brant), John Miljan (Ace Lamont (owner, Sensation House)), Stuart Holmes (Dirk) and James Donlan (Kirby (Tiger Kid's manager)).

Edward Gargan and Leo McCarey (director) have also been associated in Love Happy, released in 1949. As an actor, Edward Gargan has been seen in movies such as Blood Money, released in 1933, Fixer Dugan (1939) as Jake, The Falcon's Brother (1942) (character: Detective Bates), Two Girls on Broadway (1940), The Gilded Lily (1935) in which he portrays Subway Guard, and Fly-By-Night (1942) (character: Officer Charlie Prescott).

As an actress, Mae West has acted in movies such as Myra Breckinridge, released in 1970 portraying Leticia Van Allen, Klondike Annie (1936) (character: The Frisco Doll/Rose Carlton/Sister Annie Alden), Night After Night (1932) as Maudie Triplett, Goin' to Town (1935) in which she portrays Cleo Borden, My Little Chickadee (1940) (character: Flower Belle Lee), and The Heat's On (1943).
