The Fourth Mummy movie planned!

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the third installment of the Mummy's saga, has just been released in theatres and we are already hearing talk about an other sequel!

After Egypt and China Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser), Evelyn Carnahan (Maria Bello) and Jonathan (John Hannah) could visit South America in a promising "Rise of the Aztec" episode, scheduled for summer 2010.

Maria Bello also suggested in an interview that she may have signed on for three Mummy movies.

Rumors, reality, audience testing? In any event, it's the Box-Office figures which will determine the future of the Mummy's saga.

Bring back the magic from the first two mummy movies to number 4

I loved the first two. Rachel Weisz made a far better Evie than MariaBello she is a good actress but no Evie. In the first movie it mentionsthat Evie is half Egyptian and with Rachel's looks you could believethat. With Rachel's Evie the chemistry between her and Rick wasbelievable (with Maria's Evie they was abslutly zipo and if it was forced and very noticeable) they could not keep their hands or lips off each other andthe fact that Alex being an only child with parents hot for each other, right!

The third installment to the Mummy movies was a greatdisappointment and I only saw bits and pieces of it. In a nut shell itwas pretty bloody stupid. Also with the third film they made Rick to bea neglectful father, in the Mummy Returns he was very protective ofboth Evie and Alex I just could not see Rick doing that.

If doing a forth bring back theoriginal Evie (Rachel) and the original magic to the Mummy films that includesthe original cast and crew from the first two movies. :)

Mummy gone bad (SPOILERS)

Hey guys, I want to talk about The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. First off, WHERE IS ARNOLD VOSLOO (Imhotep)!!! He was my 2nd favorite character, close after Brendan Fraser's Rick O'Connel. He was the highlight of the movie. He was THE Mummy. The only mummy. How can they change that? They also changed Evie and they have a different director now. Why didn't they just make another series rather than ruining this one. The Mummy 1 and 2 were my favorite movies. Now they just changed the whole thing. Next off, this one is in China!! What happened to Egypt?! The Mummy is not just any mummy, it is the mummy in Egypt, the one by the name of Imhotep, not some other guy in China. Last off, (To those who haven't seen the 3rd movie, this is a Big Spoiler) why the heck is Rick immortal...what is the fun of that?! Movies are supposed to be about people trying to not get killed! Now that he's immortal, it won't be as suspensful. Please take this in mind people, because the Mummy has been totally ruined.

whats wrong wit u

i saw the third movie of the mummy. i liked it execpt for the fact that the original Eve was not. other then that the movie was AWSOME!!!!! Imhotep was not in it because Rick,Eve, Jonathan, and Alex had killed Imhotep for ever.

Posted by G455 - Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Actually Imhotep killed himself because he no longer has a chance to take over the world and lost his future wife. His name was becoming the Jonathan's Shanghai bar's name.

Posted by G501 - Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Imhotep did not die when he plunged himself into the pit in the Scorpion King's pyramid at Ohm Shere. He was instead sent back to Hamunaptra where he will carry out his sentence of the Hom-Dai for all eternity. That is the duration of the curse and he will forever bare it. He can forever be brought back as an immortal with the power of the Book of the Dead. So theoretically someone could go to Hamunaptra with the Black book and raise Imhotep from slumber.

Posted by G788 - Monday, June 21st, 2010

Imhotep did die

no he was killed! he became a mortal when he entered the scorpion kings lair. which means he died like a normal human, so even is he did get brought bak he would have no powers since he only got those powers because of the forbidden way in which he was buried in the first place. having a third movie with him would be pointless as held be a powerless mummy!

Posted by G834 - Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

in the first movie he became mortal when rick killed him. but he dosnt die because a curse was put apon him.

Posted by G1108 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

Posted by G1107 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

If you'll remember, Imhotep was ALSO made mortal and killed at the end of the first MUMMY movie!

I thought the third "Mummy" movie was pretty good, but it sure did miss Rachel Weisz.

Posted by G491 - Friday, December 04th, 2009

ok guys!!!!!

wow The mummy is classic ruining evie was bad but come on!!!!! ok there are 16 different types of mummies around the world so give it a rest.

Posted by G1110 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

Brendan Fraiser could easily take up for "Indiana Jones" now that Harrison Ford is too old. That's acheology too!

Mummies from China=Mummies from Egypt

Hi......Not to be a smarty or some kind of historian/scientist, but mummies are just dead people "wrapped" for their next life in eternal peace and glory or eternal hell. Egyptians way of mummification is to take out the important organs and brain. The definition of mummy in the dictionary is an Egyptian tradition of preserving the body, but another definition is a well desiccated body. Jet Li was well desiccated body. It was preserved in mud, was it not? It hardened and preserved his body. Same with his army. Although I may disagree with what you have written, I do share the same love for Mummy 1 and 2. I agree that the third movie was an abomination(although it earned quite alot of money). The Mummy Series can not continue if its main character,Brendan Fraser, does not do the movie. I was extremely disappointed since Rachel Weiz was not Evelyn O' Connell. -Thank You

Posted by G1111 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

I HASVE the old MUMMY movie with Boris Karloff. I also have the 3 MUMMY movies witry Brendan Frasier. In my opinion, the Brendan Frasier movies were MUCH BETTER "MUMMY" movies!

REPLY to Mummy gone bad

Rick isn't actually imortal, you have get a bit more of it, or else the emperor would have turned immortal the instant his foot hit it. Only now he has a really strong stomach.

Posted by G1039 - Tuesday, March 08th, 2011

different evie

well, they did not actually CHOOSE a different evie. Rachel was pregnant during the filming of the third Mummy movie. if they had wanted to ruin their own movies intentionally they would've chosen a worse actress. maria may not be the original but she did a good job for someone who doesn't truly have a grasp of the character. she didn't bring evie to life after all, she was merely mimicking the behaviors she was told to, as well as what she observed from the first two flicks.

Posted by G1112 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

What I read was that Rachel Weisz said she would NOT do a third MUMMY movie right after the second had been released.

Posted by G338 - Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Agreed, Rachel needs to come back for the next one! and thier is no film without John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo and Ohded Fehr

Posted by G542 - Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Why did they ruin the mummy classics?!

Hello Everyone,

Of course everyone knows that the Mummy 1 and 2 has a very big difference with

the "The Mummy 3". They made the movie in China, There are no mummies in China.. ,

Alex has this American accent when he grew up in England...and he is way too old...,

Brendan Fraser's character became imortal...They replaced Rachel Weiz! Yupp well...

No offense but the Mummy 3 sucked..Maria Bello doesn't look like half eyptian for goodness sakes!!! Maria Bello's Accent is also DIFFERENT!!! I want the Old Story line and the other characters too.. like Arnold Vooslo,Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez and of course i want RACHEL WEISZ back!!!!! You know guys Maria Bello signed up for 3 mummy movies!!!! ... i hope rachel weisz would finally come back...i really do pray she

does come back oh please!!!! I might be over reacting...but REALLY i hope that they didn't even make Mummy3 they just ruined it..its better if it stopped at Mummy Returns since they can't even think of a good story and not put back the original characters!!!

Oh Come on!!!

Posted by G677 - Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

hi dudes,
you are totally correct. without real evie, mummy is not a mummy film. i attracted to the film one reason is Rachel Weisz's smile and the way she act.there's no reason to change the main actress of the movie. now it's a suckkkkk!!

Posted by G989 - Saturday, January 08th, 2011

I agree!

I completely agree, they need Rachel Weisz back!! She was such a huge character in the story line! I know its wrong to say that they should of just stopped with The mummy Returns but its true. They just ruined it all! The mummy and The mummy Returns were and still are my favorite movies an d well now...the third part just ruined it. Its hard to believe that Rachel didnt want the part because of the son now being 21, but its understandable i mean Rachel looks way too young to play the part of a mom of a 21 year old. this is just all wrong! They need to fix it.

Posted by G1113 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

I agree! ALL those charactors and actors MADE the movie!

Posted by G344 - Monday, June 15th, 2009

Rachel Weisz was going to be in the third mummy movie, but decided not to be in the third mummy movie because she said there was problems with the script.

Posted by G929 - Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

No she didnt want to leave her new born baby

Posted by G445 - Friday, October 16th, 2009

Replacing Evie was a HUGE mistake! I bought both mummy movies, and the scorpian king.. was looking forward to this movie with baited breath, only to find out that Rachel wasn't in it?

It's like when they replaced Darren in Bewitched... STUPID STUPID STUPID! You've lost a fan guys... sad sad day!

Posted by G497 - Friday, December 11th, 2009

Totally agree

I agree with every single word you say...I have read about the new movie having to do with AZtecs....from what I remember they said at the end of the movie that they "heard about Mummies in Peru" they got their history pretty messed up....besides changing a main actress, they will now change the location??? even when it was already announced on the 3rd movie??????

Posted by G1114 - Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

They can change the locations of where they work like Indiana Jones diod. He worked all around the world in his movies, doing archeology. That IS afterall, what Rick and Evie were!

Posted by G512 - Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Well your crap,

The third movie was just as much awesome as the first two... what more can u want then a: MORPHING KUNG FU EMPEROR NINJA MAGIC WIELDING MUMMY!!! >.< XD

Posted by G526 - Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Get Evie right!!! fpr the 4th mummy

U are soooooo in my head, that is exactly what I would have written about the 3rd movie as well, the chemistry between Maria and Brendan was non existant, Rachel is the obvious choice, they were great together..... push for Rachel to be in the 4th version.

Posted by G548 - Saturday, February 06th, 2010

I agree get Rachel back as Evie

I loved the first two Mummy flicks, both were excellent. I went to the cinema to see the third, I walked out after 20 minutes. I couldn't handle not only the bad story line but the new Evie. What were producers thinking replacing Rachel, personally they should of gotten a better script to entice Rachel back. Not only was there NO chemisty between Brendan and Maria and what little there was forced and boy didn't it show. What about Alex? I mean seriously the actor was far to old to play Rick and Evie's son. The director better get the forth right, but I doubt he will. Bring back Rachel and get a good script.

Posted by G538 - Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

the muumy 3

so true. rick was a good father, but they changed that in the 3rd. what, after egypt the second time he just looks out to see if everonnes alive and stops caring for them other then that?yeah right.and evie needs to be the origal evie, not the new would have really made a huge just gave the effect, both of the two things written above, that it was thrown together fast, except for the fact of having many of the original cast.

Posted by G754 - Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

please bring back rachel weiss, i did not like the new evie not chemistry between her and brandon

Posted by G760 - Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I LOVE MUMMY AND MUMMY RETURNS!3rd movie sucked bad.

i agree with everything you said! :D bring back the original cast please :)

Posted by G2868 - Sunday, May 07th, 2017

If there is a fourth Mummy movie, I have to agree, bring back the magic of the first two movies. The third one just didn't work, the chemistry wasn't there. I'm sorry but Rachel Weisz is Evie. She created the part, and it's her's.

Posted by G228 - Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

The first two Mummy films were very good. I've recently bought a special box with all three mummy movies, and both of the scorpion king films. I must say, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor wasn't what I expected to be. A lot of mistakes, not such a good storyline, the change of evie, ... . I don't know, but it wasn't as adventureous as the first 2.

I've just went looking on the internet for more information about the fourth film, and had read on several sites that Maria Bello signed in for another 3 sequals, but that Brendan Fraser would quit the mummy films, which would be a real mistake! It already was a mistake to replace the first evie into this one now... Not that she's a bad actress, but you may never replace the actors that people are used to see as the main characters!

Never take out the lead players into a film, and change them by others! People are used to them and can't just love the new ones. That's just a fact...
So I really hope Brendan Fraser will stay!

My advise: let's just wait and see. I already do love the title "Rise of the Aztec".

Posted by G229 - Friday, January 02nd, 2009

It's getting worse

I don't get it. The name of the trilogy is, The MUMMY!!!!! not the chinese men or the aztecs!!! I remember watching the 1st one & that one was the best mummy overall. After that, things just got worse! Rachel Weisz was awesome, then all of a sudden, someone else replaces her. If the Mummy wants to be better, they should know that great movie trilogies are better with the same character! Now a 4th one in South America!? The movie should stay in Egypt since mostly mummies are found there! If the director of the 4th mummy wants to make it better they should do the following: Switch the location to Egypt, have better special effects, and for crying out loud, bring back Rachel Weisz!!!!!! I couldn't stand Maria Bello as Evie in the 3rd one (she doesn't even look egyptian!!!!!)

Posted by G431 - Monday, October 05th, 2009

The Mummy

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Where does it say the story is singularly about Egyptian mummies? Ok, the first two were but the mummy in the first two was destroyed and Egypt is not the only country where mumification took place. Simple, they are stories. They are entertaining and cleverly wriiten. Great entertainment value. Get over it and move on!

Posted by G895 - Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

The fuss is that no one wants to watch a movie about Chinese or Aztec mummies when they could be watching one about Egyptian mummies instead.

Posted by G277 - Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Mummy 4 Aztec

I loved the first two mummy movies. Rise of the Dragon emperor was okay, but the new Evie just didn't work for me, or the older Alex. Original Evie played by Weis had great chemistry with Fraser. There was no chemistry at

all with new Evie. Older Alex I thought looked more like Fraser younger brother than (father/son). I think 4th movie could be really good, if original

characters were reintroduced.

Posted by G318 - Thursday, May 07th, 2009

don't know how thw 4th would be

the LOVE THE MUMMY MOVIES but the 3th one was ok i loved luke ford in it. But i hated the idea of a new Evy I love Rachel Weisz. And It should be in Egypt that is where most of mummyies are found i had no idea that they had mummies in China i mean what i hell. And i loved Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep he was the best mummy ever. And some advise for the director i could have made a better 3th mummy movie, and i am only 14.

Posted by G333 - Sunday, May 31st, 2009

I agree with everyone, the new Evie...she tried too hard with her expressions and her acting to do the part the way Rachel Weisz did. It just wasnt right that the old Evie wasnt in the 3rd Mummy movie, and that must be an awesome trick how Alex's parents look the same age even though he is like what at least 10 years older lol. I enjoyed the 3rd Mummy movie but the way they did it, it was as random as a bad scifi show. The whole reason I loved the first and second movies were because it was in Egypt and I am fascinated with all of the stories, fiction and non fiction that I watch/read about. I'm just not sure how yetis and all of that are mummy related. I just know that if both Branden Fraser and Rachel Weisz are not in the movie...they might as well just forget about the theaters and put the movie out right onto the shelf because the movie will not be worth anything without them =/ Just My Opinion.

~Branden Fraser + Rachel Weisz= Irreplaceable!! =)

Aztec.. and South America??

The Aztecs where located in Central America... Johnatan said.. Peru.. where is located in South America.. South America and the Aztec Culture... two differents things my friend...

Posted by Sister Spoon - Friday, July 03rd, 2009

I'm really dense with geography, but I think Mexico is considered a part of North America, not Central America. Isn't that where the Aztecs were located? Mexico?

Posted by G979 - Friday, December 31st, 2010

Central America is part of North America

Central America is a region of North America. The North American Continent stretches from Panama to the Arctic Circle. Central America, which consists of Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Panama, is as stated, a region of North America.

The Aztecs were in primarily in Mexico, which is not part of the Central American Region, though it borders it. The Aztec Empire however, did stretch into Central America.

The Primary Indian people of Central America were the Toltecs and the Mayans (who were also in Mexico).

Posted by G474 - Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

you r thinking of the incas, the aztecs were in mexico. ps i dont want to be mean, but me and my friend are HUGE mummy fans and we thought the third one was so bad that it didn't deserve to be considered part of the trilogy!

The mummy movies needs Rachael back. No more need be said. Done.

mummy series

you are ruining the mummy series by not having the original caracters in it. it would be like replacing hans solo with soupy sales or joan collins as princess leia in star wars.

mummy 4

wow!!!!!!!!! thats great, i heared about it bt i thought it ws a rumour. im a big fan of mummy series expecially to Rick o connel( bredan fraiser). bt the 3rd part ws a big dissapointment including the absence of rachel. Rachel is apt . chemistry btw brendan fraiser & rachel weiz ws owsome& i miss arnold vasloo too.plz dont do the same mistake in part 4. rick(B fraiser) ws abit older in part 3 bt i dont want to see him old again in part4

there must be hero and heroine Brendan Fraser and maria bello .......................there combination is very attractive....we like it in India

Posted by G430 - Friday, October 02nd, 2009

The Mummy 4 is here

there must be same hero and heroine of the mummy ...B'coz that characters are sutable for it .......then no one see the film the mummy four ..............................Maily heroine is Evelyn Carnahan......before first part

Posted by G442 - Thursday, October 15th, 2009

they need to keep the original rick and evie or the magic is lost

I love watching the mummy films, but mostly the first two. It lost its charm when Rachel (Evie) was replaced. It just wasn't the same. I wish they would have wrote the character out than replace. Not to say the replacement is a bad actor, its just Rachel and Brendan have magic and charisma that bring the audience engrossed.

Posted by blackshah - Sunday, October 18th, 2009

they better

then mummy is a great series it has the feeling of and indiana jones movie (NOT THE #4) and the mood of it as well we need more movies like this one and with all the charachters that make that happen like the ones with ohded fehr in it and their is no way its going to e good without brendan fraiser

Posted by G462 - Friday, October 30th, 2009

Just to get this straight,

I really wished that hadn't replaced Evelyn. I loved Rachel Weisz, she was meant for that part. No one can portrey Evelyn better than she can, no one.

What I'm finding annoying here is the fact that alot of people cannot except the fact that Egypt is not the only place you can find mummies. A mummy is someone who died and their skin + organs were perserved purposly or accidently from the exposure to extreme cold, chemicals low humidity or the lack of air to the body (for ex. A body located in a bog.) A murder victim in the U.S. if found in a bog could be considered a mummy. Natural mummies have been found all of the world. "Bog Bodies", mummies found in bogs, are usually found in the United Kingdom or Ireland. They were a result of murder or ritual sacrifices.
Mummies have also been found in the Canary Islands (there way of mummification is that simmilar to the Egyptians), Russia and North/South America.
Buddhists would also mummify themselves. As you can see, mummies aren't just an Egyptian thing, they're all over the world.

Also Mexico is in North America. Canada and the United States are not the only two countries located in North America: There are 43 countries including mexico, the U.S. and Canada. And yes the Aztec were located in Mexico.

I'm a hisoty major, I know these things. (:

The Mummy Movies

Hi, it would be great if there were a couple more of the Mummy Movies. Would be better if the original cast were in them especially Rachel Weiz.
You do have 1 fan who would love more Mummy Movies.

Posted by G492 - Friday, December 04th, 2009

If they do, I won't watch it since Rachel Weiz won't be in it. The last moved SUCKED big time because she wasn't in it.

Bring Back Rachael Weisz

I enjoyed the third movie, in China, but there was no chemistry between Maria Bello and Brandon Fraiser as husband and wife. Rachael Weisz was the key to the spirit and the chemistry which made the first two movies fun. The British accent used by Bello was forced to say the least and not anything like Rachael Weisz.PLEASE, offer her more money, but bring her back.

Posted by G524 - Friday, January 15th, 2010

For me the Mummy series was over with The Mummy Returns. The Emperor's Tomb could have been fun to watch (even though it did not have Arnold Vosloo as the mummy), but that actress they replaced Rachel Weisz with is the worst choice for Evelyn ever!! Rick and Evie in the first two Mummy movies had some great on screen chemistry, which is totally lacking in the third one. They don't click as a couple who's very much in love. Unless Rachel comes back as Evie I'm not watching another Mummy.

Posted by Sister Spoon - Friday, January 15th, 2010

replacement, uggg!

I didn't grasp the fact for the first half HOUR that that woman was supposed to be the replacement for Rachel!!! She was horrible!!

And she looked like she could be Rick's mother! It was creepy and totally ruined the movie for me.

horrid horrid horrid

Posted by G531 - Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Love the Egyptian storyline.

Okay, I agree with all of you in that the third installment has nothing on the first two. I think they should bring the storyline back to Egypt, bring back the original Evie, and if they are wanting to shake things up from the whole Imhotep plot, then maybe have them fight off a cursed pharaoh--like Tutenkhamen--based on the whole Tutenkhamen's curse hysteria that was going on. I think that would be pretty cool...however, I love Imhotep.

Posted by G550 - Sunday, February 07th, 2010

Why didn't Rachel Weisz come back? The new Evie is terrible!

I saw the Mummy 3 in movie theatres and I was so bummed! Some of the film was good but they didn't use Rachel Weisz for Evie! The new Evie is terrible! I really dislike when they don't use the same actors for each sequel.....if they make a 4th one I'm not going to see the movie in theatre or buying it if Rachel Weisz dosen't come back! Come on Rachel! You're awesome!!

Liked some things about Mummy 3...

Others, I didn't. First of all, I agree with many of you...I did NOT like the new Evie. Maria Bello is one of my favorite actresses, but she just didn't fit in this role. And I'm not just saying that because I miss -- fiercely -- Rachel Weisz as Evie. Maria Bello's a great actress, but she and Brendan Fraser just did not have much chemistry. I love the fact that the new director wanted to make the film his own, but he really, really should have paid attention to the small details in the previous two films. When you're coming in and making a third film in a series, the characters and their relationships, etc., are already established, and well loved. I, personally, liked the fact that the story took place somewhere other than Egypt (though at some point I hope they return to Egypt, as I also felt a huge hole where Ardeth should have been), and that Alex was all grown-up, and trying to make his own name in a world his parents dominate. That was all excellent. What I didn't like was that Alex had an AMERICAN accent, when in the previous film, at EIGHT YEARS OLD, he had an ENGLISH accent. I get that the director wanted to make Alex as much like his father as possible, but honestly, he could have done that WITH the accent. I really don't think a boy with such a distinct accent, who grew up in England, would grow up and suddenly not have that same accent. I really, really tried to ignore that fact...but you have no idea how much it bugged me. It took away from my enjoying the film. And for all the girls out there...Alex being like Rick, but with an English accent? How hot would that have been? ;-)

Anyway...back to the film. I liked the idea of Alex and Lin, but the romance/relationship between them was way, way too rushed. There was no build up; no connection. It was like: meet, fight a little, declare undying love, make out in a little night club called Imhotep's. Compared to the build up of Rick and Evy's relationship in 'The Mummy'...this one just couldn't hold a candle. And I'm not saying I expect the two stories to be the same. Not at all. I just mean the story quality suffered. Really suffered. Action and adventure are freaking awesome, but character development is just as imperative to a story. The third movie severely lacked that. The director/writers should have paid more attention to that. The story quality was what MADE the first two movies.

I also, like a few people mentioned, at first had an issue with Rick being a more or less neglectful father. I was rather surprised to hear that about Rick, after seeing how devoted he was to Alex in the second movie. I got over it fast, though, because I did see how much he loved Alex, and he was still protective of him, as shown more than a few times in the movie. Chasing after Alex when he was on the runaway carriage with Lin ("Alexander Rupert O'Connell!"), almost dying because he jumps in the path of that sword meant for Alex. The reason I got over the fact that Alex felt a bit of resentment towards his father/parents is because over the years Rick and Evie DID go on more and more adventures/missions, and Alex was left behind. I could see there being some resentment there, over that. Who WOULDN'T feel that, no matter how much their parents loved them? I don't think the resentment took away from the love that was there in the second movie, between Rick, Alex, and Evie. Remember, too, that in the second movie Alex is a little boy, and in the most recent one he's all grown up. Dynamics in relationships change as we grow. The way we relate to each other changes. So, basically, I kind of liked that not everything was harmonious between the three of them. It was a little more realistic. And settled by the end of the movie.

Ah, and Jonathan was great, like always. =)

All in all, I thought the movie was okay. Not as good as the first two. Like I said, it needed more attention to detail. However, even with my ambivalent feelings about this one, I AM looking forward to number four. I'm holding out tenuous hope that the director/writers will have paid attention to what some of the fans've said. Fingers crossed! ^_^

Maria Bello is a wrong choice. She knows to copy everything of Rachel except acting. I hope next time before she hits back the big screen, maria should take a few lessons on acting too. And she looks very aged.
And Arnold vosloo, Oded fehr & Patricia makes the Mummy series complete. So without them its again going to be too bland and dull! Jet Lee was pretty much expressionless in mummy 3, therefore it ll be better if he is not re casted in this movie. A negative character can only make films like these seem grand & offer a eye treat to the audience as Vosloo suceeded in doing. So it ll be wise on the part of the casting director to reconsider about Vosloo.

Key To A Good Fourth Mummy Movie

The primary key to making a good fourth movie in the mummy series is to bring back Rachel Weisz as Evie. I guarantee that will make people like the movie better.

Bring Back Evie!

You betcha! The third Mummy movie without Rachel Weisz as Evie was a mistake. The "new" Evie and Rick had no chemistry. The first two movies were tremendous. Every time they are on television we watch! The Mummy movies aren't the same with out Rachel. And...bring back Ardeth Bay. We last saw hime riding into the sunset in the dessert. We want to know what he's been up to!

The fourth Mummy Movie

Tee hee hee ......... all these comments are just awesome! I love the passion everyone feels for this franchise ......... and agree wholeheartedly with almost everything that was said !!!

Rachel Weisz was, is and will always be Evie. I too couldn't wait for Mummy 3, and was confused for the first 1/2 of the film as to the new Evie and the grown son....... and if that wasn't bad enough I was so stoked to see Jet Li till all that magic mumbojumbo started to happen - dear god he changed forms........what's up with that? By the time the skeleton army showed up I was done. Can you say really bad script!?

I have Mummy 1 and 2 and Scorpion King so I guess I'll just be satisfied with those. Not sure I'll waste my time going to see a fourth! Such a shame too .............. I thoroughly loved these movies! Maybe I'll give it a chance when it gets to DVD. tee hee

Keep the comments comming folks ......... spot on and funny as heck!!!

Mummy is almost ruined

I understand that alex is grown up and i am sad too,i still think of him as the little brave boy who said "My dad is going to kick your ass", i was awed by the love he had for his parents, i thought that even when he grew up he would still love them openly, but as a great man once said "All good things must come to an end" and unforuntely that seems to be happening to our beloved mummy series. I guess with a new director came a new movie plot. I mean COME ON, Alex wouldnt be that jealous of his parents, and he wouldnt realize how much he loved his dad just because he is dieing!!! Also i realize that Evy has grown older and matured, but not to be rude MARIA BELLO WAS AWFUL AS EVY,

Posted by G676 - Monday, April 19th, 2010

no way, this sucks!maria bello stay out of this next movie!its just doesnt fit for her!i want the mummy back and rachel!with out her thers no movie to watch coz it boring for gods sake!i love this story and please directors make a good choice if you want people to love the next movie!fingers cross

I totally agree Maria SUCKS in the movie. For some reason I am ashamed of even being a fan of the movies now. the way she acts is crap compared to rachel. Rachel and Brenden were PERFECT together and Maria is trying too hard to act like rachel. Although I have to amit that she is alright in some of her movies, she just doesn't fit this role. Plus Alex grew up way too fast. He doesn't have the adorable accent anymore and they should have made a movie where he is like a teen instead of him being 7 in the second movie and all of a sudden be all grown up in the third. it's just not right. Besides if they do make a movie with him being a teen they should use Alexander Ludwig. hat would really get peoples attention. But the only way the third and on movie van be good is if they go back and put the real evie back in. If they make another or redo this one I will convince my principle to let my whole school see it instead of going to class. Having rachel in it is the only way it will ever be popular again.

Everyone has mentioned the chemistry between Brendan and Rachel. It's true. They DID have the right chemistry together and I agree, BRING BACK RACHEL !

Posted by G765 - Thursday, June 03rd, 2010

they should make a fourth one and they need to bring the mummy from mummy 1 and 2 (emoteph) to help them. im so exited they better make a forth one

Posted by G785 - Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Please, Rachel, come back!

Great Series

After watching all three, I will agree the third one is really cheesy. Until the climax. More graphic images, more mummy owning, the only disappointment was a different Evy.
The Mummy 1-
-Graphics: 10/10
-Acting: 10/10
- Story Line: 10/10

The Mummy 2-
-Graphics: 10/10
-Acting: 9/10
-Story Line: 7/10

The Mummy 3-
-Graphics: 11/10
-Acting: 6/10
-Story Line: 9.999/10

Great Series. Hopefully they'll bring us a good movie for the 4th chapter, and Rick will be the B-A person he's meant to be.

Bring back Rachel

The only way this could possibly work (and be good) is to ditch the Alex angle, bring back Rachel, and basically forget the third one ever happened.Alex should be a bit younger in the next one. I was immediately turned off when he was a completely grown adult in just a couple years...Bring the focus back to Rick and Edie (as long as its Rachel). They will run this franchise into the ground if they don't go back to what works. The fact that Rachel turned down a role she knew would be a success because the script was so beneath her says something about the artistic integrity of the people making these movies. I don't blame her at all. The 3rd movie was a shipwreck. I would have walked away too. They should have improved the quality of their writing, kept the two original people that CARRIED the movies, and would have been able to keep this franchise going forever...but no...they went the cheap and easy route to make money faster, rather than have an enduring film which would further secure this franchise's place in the category of truly great adventure movies. It will never reach the status it could have because of their greedy mistake. Its really rather tragic.Hopefully somewhere 20 years down the line someone will look back at this and put real effort into putting out a movie of equal quality to the first two.

Brendan Must Match With Rachel

Hi ! every one,i just read all comment about Mummy series,i agreed that part 1 & 2 are more attractive,cz Rick & Eve are so match.Hope that she can come back for Mummy 4.Also John Hannah rule must in all mummy series ,he was very cheerful.Last hope can watch Mummy 4 soon,cz i love Rick so much.

Posted by G832 - Monday, July 26th, 2010

I agree

Rachel is the only Evie there is. Together with Brendon they have a chemistry and you believe that they are two people in love. I haven't seen that in the third part.

And I agree that Alex being the only child with such parents is very strange.

Posted by G838 - Saturday, July 31st, 2010

we need rachel weisz

i agree that rachel is a better evie she made the character her own something i feel maria bello hasnt captured the essence of evie as well but she is a good actress, saying that i cant wait for the next mummy film.

Posted by G839 - Saturday, July 31st, 2010

bring back oded fehr he was awesome, also rachel weisz she was evie.

Posted by G846 - Wednesday, August 04th, 2010

well no duh it was horrible!

rachel weisz was suppose 2 play evie but she didnt agree wit the script. isnt tht the first clue tht its gonna b bad. if u loose the even one of the main characters thn dont make the movie! cuz its gonna suck n no one will watch the nxt one after tht. thy already ruined the mummy series' good name. mayb thy can redeem its good name if thy bring back rachel 4 the 4th but even thn i doubt thy can

Posted by G858 - Thursday, August 26th, 2010

i don't know why but think the mummy 3 suck..i love the story but i hate the replacement of eve and the mummiess the mummies looked so weird, the mummies on the mummy 1 and 2 looked so much better than the 3and i think rachel weisz really a good actress, because she was replaced the story became horrible! and not interestingjust bring her back! she's just the only one who fit with eve character

Posted by G873 - Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

what that..?

Now correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the setting be Peru, I read history books a lot and I do not recall the Aztecs mummifying their dead. Also it can be seen in words at the end of the Dragon Emperor that they shortly discovered mummies in Peru. Ever heard of cave or ice mummies of Peru? I also though that the Aztecs lived in Mexico and not South America. If they go forward with this inaccuracy not only will they offend a peoples' heritage, and insult history, but the movie will end up prety much looking stupid.

Posted by G874 - Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

what the...?

or maybe I'm being too harsh. There may be a connection between the two.

Posted by G894 - Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

He was to remain sealed inside his sarcophagus, the undead for all of eternity.

Even The Scorpion King made more sense to me than thethird Mummy movie, and the fact that Maria Bello claimed to have signed on tothree more films sort of made me die a little inside. The Mummy and The MummyReturns were pure brilliance because they were new and exciting. No one haddared try anything on the subject of a spooky ancient Egyptian curse thatincluded such a wild and unforgettable cast that could be enjoyed by the wholefamily. I remember seeing all three original films at the movies when I wasjust a little kid and being enthralled in the mysteries of Egypt (in fact thesemovies are what prompted me to study classics and pursue a career in archaeology).

But the Curse of the Dragon Emperor? WHAT WAS THAT?! Ihad the constant urge to storm out throughout the movie whenever Maria Belloappeared. It actually felt like Rick was cheating on Evie with her. And thescenes between the two were so awkward and fake it was painful to watch.

The only way I can see the fourth movie working at all isif SOMEHOW they find SOME WAY to raise Imhotep again and have him square ofagainst the Aztec mummy.

Ardeth Bay --- Death By Ra

Posted by mochagoddess - Friday, October 01st, 2010

He was to remain sealed inside his sarcophagus, the undead for all of eternity.

You are right bring back Ardeth Bay and def Rachel. I'm so disappointed in this last movie. THey didn't stick with major themes of the other two movies! Rise of the Aztecs does sound like a good name...I believe they are finding that the Aztecs are somehow descendents of egypt they use a lot of the same symbols. I forget where i read that but it was recently. The Aztecs and the myans both. Still they need to bring back Rachel and the madjii they are toatlly off course and I hope they can fix it!1 if not i am no longer a fan of these movies..what a shame my family couldn't even stand the last one..we all say the same thing... way off course. save the mummy movies!!!

Posted by G897 - Thursday, September 30th, 2010

No, no, no. I gave Maria a chance, and she disappointed terribly. Bring back Rachel or try someone else. Possibly someone with a believable British accent. I won't spend a dime to see Maria try to act her way through another movie.

Posted by G898 - Thursday, September 30th, 2010

no maria

I completely agree with you..I do not like her as Eavy at all. I will nt pay anotherdime either. I just won't go see it..Hopefully Rachael will come back..If not i fear they have lost many fans. They can save the movies if they just bring her back... the chemistry on screen is all wrong with Maria and Brendon. There is no spark no chemistry at all!!!

Wow, from reading all the postings is very apparent that the public prefers Evie played by Rachel Weisz, but do you think that we be the driving factor in who plays the role, probably not.

Just like politics, they pick them we don't. So we can choose not to see the next movie though.

Posted by G911 - Tuesday, October 05th, 2010

Mummy 4

Would most definitely prefer to see Rachel Weisz return as Evie, she so much better as believable.

Posted by G941 - Saturday, November 13th, 2010

imhotep was killed

imhotep was killed by Rick in the second one and he also killed the scorpion king

Tabatha Coffey Television Reality Star is also an Extraordinary Actress!

Tabatha Coffey, Star of Bravo's hit TV show "Tabatha's Salon Takeover" made her stage debut last night on Broadway performing in "My Big Gay Italian Wedding". Her performance was fun, convincing, and enjoyable, with just enough sass that added quick witted comedy to an already hilarious show.

the mummy 4

What would be really nice if the casting director actually read any of the comments on here then they might actually get things right for a change, unfortunately they dont read the comments from these sites.....

Posted by G976 - Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Bring Back Rachel however they have to!!!!!

I have to agree! Rachel was a much better fit. The 3rd Mummy was not the same and it sadden me that Rachel did not reprise her role. It ruined the whole movie for me. If they do a 4th they should do anything they have to to bring back Rachel or the movie will bomb at the box office. No offense to the other chick that played Evie, but I absolutely hate when they replace the original characters on sequels...especially when they dont look like or even try to act like the original character they replaced.

Posted by G988 - Saturday, January 08th, 2011

Cant believe it

Wow..a fourth movie? Yess! I still wish Rachel Weisz would be Evelyn. These movies have been my favorites since I was a child, and i cant imagine the rest of the movies without her.

Mummy 3 rubbish

Def need to bring back Rachel.

Mummy 3 was rubbish without her, I also didnt like the fact Alex was so old totally unbelieveable!!

RE: Brendan Fraiser and Rachel Weisz

Whilemy question, or suggestion is about Brendan Frazier and Rachel Weisz, it doesn't concern the "Mummy" movie series. I was thinking since Harrisonm Ford is now troo old to play "Indiana Jones" anymore, and as Brendan and Harrison's movies were about acheology, WHY can't they do more INDIANA JONES movies syarring Brendan Frasier now, and have Rachel Weisz do some guest starring roles or even play the role of the girel he married in "Indiana Jones" 4? They would be GREAT to carry on the Indiana Jones series together!

Posted by G1132 - Friday, June 03rd, 2011

It will be good to see a their Mummy movie

Posted by G1188 - Friday, July 29th, 2011

I think the 3rd movie suffered from both bad acting and a rushed storyline, it seemed there was no buildup and the stroyline had been neglected.

Posted by G1563 - Monday, January 23rd, 2012

I dont know if anyone really cares but its not the producers or directors fault or anyone elses fault that rachel weiz did sign on for the 3rd movie. A quote from her is that now that she had a baby all the travel time she would have to spend away from her kid wouldnt work. So they really cant bring her back if she didnt want to do it. There is also a lot of talk that she didnt like the script which is probably true but with her kid she probably would have had to turn it down even if she did like it. And I do hope that there is a 4th I just think a mummy movie with Aztecs would go off better than ones from china.

Posted by G2087 - Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

This movie is instead officially titled "The Mummy". Jon Spaihts will write, but Rob Cohen will not return to direct. Brendan Fraser will not return either. The other wotking title is "The Mummy 4: The End of Time".

Posted by G2562 - Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

I totally agree with everybody the third movie was not a success, please bring back Rachel Weisz.

Posted by G2803 - Thursday, May 15th, 2014

hey,but i like the chemistry of Alex(Luke) and Lin (Issebella) in this movie.but i think that only Rachel is perfect for the character of Evie.Accept that the movie is great.

Evie can never be played by anyone other than Rachel.

The first and second films were far better they had Rachel playing Evie. Who in my opinion is the only one who can play her properly. Maria is a good actress in her own right but the role of Evie is just not the right role for her. If the reason why Rachel didn't do the third one was because of the fact she wanted to be close to her son. Then I completely understand as I am a mother myself. I can also understand completely if the reason she didn't do it was because of the script as it wasn't the best. To be honest they could have done far better than that. To me personally it felt like they had got a ten year old to write it in a rush. Which is a shame as its an insult to these epic films and the fans who support it. I understand some people enjoyed it as its the same with everything we cant all agree. Personally I think doing a fourth film would be a bad idea.

Posted by G2854 - Friday, May 06th, 2016

I am not happy about the new Evie. She doesn't have the same feeling and interest as Rachel. I want Rachel back.

Posted by G2862 - Sunday, August 28th, 2016

Finally Saw Mummy 3

After all the bad press, I didn't watch Mummy 3 until AMC showed it. It didn't improve with age. If there is ever a Mummy 4, hopefully Gough and Millar won't be doing the screenplay. The natural progression of the series should have been Hitler and his obsession with the mystic, somewhere between 1938 and 1942. Besides 1947 China was still in a civil war between Chiang Kai-Shek and Mao Ze Dong. Of course, Gough and Millar were born in 1967 and their professors would have been more interested in the here and now than history. The worst part was the end of Rick and Evie's marriage. After 20+years and a world war, they didn't seem like they could stand being in the same room together. Very sad for a romantic comedy/adventure film. Depressing really.
