After the era of the sequels, the age of trilogies (Star Wars, Back to the Future, The Godfather, Scream, The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) now rises the time for . . . quintologies (or whatever it's called ) with Alien 5, Spider-Man 5, Indiana Jones 5 and now Lethal Weapon 5.
Interviewed by IGN, actor Columbus Short (Quarantine) confirmed a fifth installment of the Lethal Weapon franchise for which he is in talks to play Murtaugh's son.
Short also added that Lethal Weapon 5 is on the "fast track", which means that Warner Bros would like to to start the production as soon as possible. Does it mean to be ready for a summer 2009?
The last opus was also made in a hurry, and in a record time in 1998.
Nothing is known about the story, but different sources are saying Riggs (Mel Gibson) is about to retire, but pulls Murtaugh (Danny Glover) out of retirement to solve one final case.
