What is the Storyline of "Mondays at Racine":
MONDAYS AT RACINE tells the uplifting story of sisters Cynthia and Rachel who own a beauty salon in Long Island, New York, which they open free of charge to cancer patients once a month on Mondays. They were inspired to do so by their experience with their mother, a cancer victim who felt her appearance changed dramatically as her illness progressed; with it, her proud sense of self withered. The film focuses in particular on two subjects: Cambria, 36, has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer a diagnosis that shakes her young, growing family to its core. Linda, 58, has been beating the odds for seventeen years. Their friendship sustains Cambria through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation, and mothering with cancer. Meanwhile, Linda considers ending her decades-long treatment as her husband, Warren, is slowly consumed by his fury at the disease. Together, they redefine their understanding of beauty, as well as their roles as mothers, wives, and women.
